Many companies are keen to write 2020 off as a bad memory. Here at Haslop & Mason, we’ve used it to sharpen our focus on customer care in light of a new way of working that will likely be with us well into 2022 – and to some degree, beyond that.

We’ve been a premium supplier of electrical components to the automotive and manufacturing sectors since 1958. Still, our overriding focus has always been meeting the needs of our customers – no matter who they are.

In 2021 we plan to go a step further and develop and enhance the skill set of our staff and our customers. To enable this, we are putting in place a training programme that will cover many of the specific needs of our customers.

As an example: When technological consultants from one of our premium suppliers, Rockwell Automation, spend time with us to train our staff in the latest global industry developments, we will involve our customers, too. This will enhance their skill set and equip them with the knowledge to know what is necessary for their factories.

We will also undertake training followups with those same customers so that we can better understand their on-site challenges – a move which will enable our support engineers to help them overcome – and pre-empt – potential problems.

Various training initiatives planned for the year ahead include:

  1. A technical workshop covering the intricacies of motion control, which is key to so many of the industries that we serve;
  2. A workshop on drive training and installation practices;
  3. A presentation on Smart Safety products, encompassing a hands-on workshop (Smart Safety helps to standardise machinery and safety control, so that systems are less susceptible to nuisance shutdowns);
  4. Guardmaster safety, Smart Sensor with IO Link Technology training and hands-on lab sessions using CCW; and
  5. A workshop on visualisation products, which provide a window into critical production and process information.

We look forward, with these training initiatives, to continue our trend of reliable customer service in 2021, making us – and our customers – Best In Business.
